Help Us Provide a Thanksgiving Meal to Those Who Have Served!

Sanford Elks Lodge #1679 is proud to support the annual Veterans Administration Thanksgiving Food Drive, organized by the Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System and the VA Center for Development & Civic Engagement (CDCE).

This year, our Lodge is helping collect “Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag” donations to ensure local veterans can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal.

For approximately $25 at Walmart, you can purchase the ingredients needed to fill one bag and make a meaningful difference in the life of a veteran this holiday season.

What's Needed?

Each Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag should contain the following items:

  • Canned Yams

  • Canned Ham

  • Canned Cranberry Sauce

  • Canned Vegetables

  • Canned Gravy

  • Instant Mashed Potatoes

  • Boxed Macaroni and Cheese

  • Boxed Stuffing

  • Boxed Cornbread

  • Rolls or Biscuits

Please check expiration dates before donating. While complete Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag donations are encouraged, donations of any of the individual items listed above are greatly appreciated and welcome. Every contribution, large or small, helps us support our local veterans this Thanksgiving.

How to Donate

Donations can be dropped off in the collection box located by the front door of Sanford Elks Lodge #1679.

Donation Deadline: Wednesday, November 4, 2026

Small Donations Make a Big Difference!

As Elks, we take pride in honoring and supporting the men and women who have served our country. This Thanksgiving, we have another opportunity to put our commitment to veterans into action.

We encourage every member who is able to participate. Whether you donate a complete meal bag, contribute a few individual items, or simply help spread the word, your support is appreciated.

Let's come together as a Lodge and help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for our local veterans!

Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our veterans.
