Sanford Elks Lodge #1679 to Hold Annual Memorial Service
Sunday, December 6, 2026 | 2:00 p.m.
Each year, on the first Sunday in December, Elks across the nation gather to honor and remember our departed members. This solemn tradition, known as Elks Memorial Sunday, is a time to reflect on the lives, friendships, and contributions of those who have gone before us.
Sanford Elks Lodge #1679 will hold its annual Memorial Service on Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Lodge's banquet room.
This year, we will pay special tribute to three members who have passed away:
Gary Gilbert
J Radford Holton Jr
Joseph E Martin
The officers of Sanford Lodge, along with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, invite all members, families, and friends to attend this meaningful ceremony as we honor the memory of our departed Brothers.
The Memorial Service is one of the most important traditions of Elkdom. It reminds us that while our members may no longer be with us, their contributions to our Lodge, our community, and the lives they touched will never be forgotten.
We encourage all members to take a little time out of their Sunday afternoon to join us in remembering those who helped make our Lodge what it is today.
As our cherished Elk tradition reminds us:
“Living or Dead, Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken.”
